Modesty is out of control. She sends back mail all the time without telling us why. We have both our physical and PO box address's on our packages and she STILL sends them back. Please give us a new postmaster.

not friendly for 3rd shifters as this is the only office I've know through several states to lock their lobby outside of window hours preventing me from obtaining my mail on my schedule

I ordered a package from Amazon, that asked specifically for a physical shipping address. My package was refused by the post office, and returned, because it did not have my PO Box number.

Modesty, Turtle Lake Postmaster, stopped our mail and two of our other neighbors without notice. After she stopped it, she began returning our mail marked "not at this address, no forwarding address available." This could potentially have affected our credit rating as much of the return mail was bills. One returned piece of mail was our car insurance bill. We have been driving without insurance and were not aware. Imagine if something had happened. When I explained that I lived here 5 months of the year and came up two weekends every month throughout the winter (hence why our driveway was always plowed), she told me I was a liar, and that she had proof I did not live here. Then she hung up on me. Our neighbor received mail here for 10 years until she did the same thing to him. He found out from a creditor's phone call for nonpayment of his bill. When he spoke with Modesty, she told him again the same thing, that he was never here more than a couple of weekends in the summer months. Again, a lie. He is here nearly every weekend all year round. Another neighbor had his mail stopped. He went in and spoke with Modesty, she informed him that his mail box was 2 inches too short and therefore, they had stopped his mail. Again, no notice...just termination. I am currently checking with other neighbors, and I have learned of at least one more. This woman does not deserve her job. She clearly has a huge power issue.

Going thru the same thing here the woman has a power trip and thinks she is the law of the land. Even tho USPS has height info she wants our mailbox 2 inches out of regulation.

Our mail stopped being delivered and although our mailbox was not "pretty" it was still compliant with regulations. After speaking to one very cordial office employee that I showed pictures to and who told me that the pictures show that my mailbox was within the guidelines. She told me to come in and speak to the postmaster in the morning, which I did with pictures in hand. The postmaster wouldn't even look at the pictures and told me that my box needed to be at a height of 48" because my carrier drives a Jeep. I questioned the height because it would put my mailbox out of compliance. The postmaster told me if I didn't put it at that height my mail would be sent back. I told her she couldn't do that. She told me she could do whatever she wanted to do. First of all I couldn't even begin to try to do that because the ground was frozen and my mailbox was within the requirements and guidelines of 41 to 45 inches. The postmaster stated I would have to figure it out. I told her that's why I am here. You are supposed to help me. She said, "I did. Put your mailbox at 48" and your mail will be delivered. Otherwise, it will be sent back. It's that simple." I left and began trying to find someone above her to speak to. I filed a complaint and was referred to St. Paul Post Office, who tried to contact the Turtle Lake Postmaster, to no avail. I was told my mail would NOT be sent back. Then a customer advocate contacted me and I told them what was going on and that I have pics of the old compliant mailbox, but was planning on putting a new mailbox on the same post, since the current one was dented anyway. Again, I was assured that my mail would NOT be sent back. Yesterday, I went to pick up my mail at the post office and the Postmaster told me she had spoken to her boss and my mail was sent back. I told her I would be calling the customer advocate and filing another report. She told me to go ahead. I informed her my new mailbox was installed and I will expect my mail to be delivered tomorrow. She said if it's not at 48" my mail won't be delivered. Today, I went back into the Turtle Lake Post Office and again, said I was there to pick up my mail and to let them know that I had installed a new mailbox. The Postmaster refused to give me my mail and told me, "I already told you it's being sent back! And my boss agrees." I asked for her bosses name, which she refused to give to me. I asked for the name of my mail carrier. She refused to give it to me. I asked for her name and she said, "I am the Postmaster!" I said, "And your name is?" She said, "Modesty" No last name was given. I verified with her, "you are fusing to give me my mail?" She said, "it's being sent back and I don't have to give you any other information." I told her that I expect my mail to be delivered, since it shouldn't have been stopped to begin with. My mailbox was and is compliant. I told Modesty that I would continue to contact the customer advocate until this is resolved satisfactorily. Again, she told me to go ahead. Still fighting for what's right. I won't allow Modesty to bully my family! Someone needs to bring her back to reality. Modesty is on a huge power Trip. The most rude, unprofessional, person in authority that I have ever met. Modesty should NOT be a POSTMASTER! She doesn't understand her job description. Right now she is in violation of US Code 18 Section 1703 by detaining and delaying my mail without cause to do so. That is punishable by a fine and up to 5 years in jail. Will keep updating. Thanks.

Does anyone know of anything that can be done to stop this woman?!?! I can give you the names of several people she has stopped mail on without warning. I can also give you the names of several people she refuses to deliver to for ridiculous reasons and forces them to have P.O. boxes. (They are the lucky ones in a way. I wasn't allowed a P.O. box. No service whatsoever). I will gladly give you my contact information (just reply to this) and I will help in any way I can. Something is terribly wrong with our U.S. Postal service when they do not look into nor follow up on allegations as serious as these.

The postmaster is unprofessional and rude to everyone and every time. I really hope someone looks into this as we have a business and she really makes it so unpleasant that we try to take our postal needs to a different office.
