Hey guys. I’m a little disappointed that my 75$ vinyl was not delivered because of the caution tape we have in our neighborhood. Seriously? Can’t get out of your little car and walk to give the mail????! You have made a whole neighborhood a little upset because of this stunt.

My Camano island mail carrier is, in my opinion, the worst. Generally speaking, I only receive junk mail at my address. I don’t use the address for billing or anything else. The mail carrier has repeatedly mis-delivered first class mail to my box. This mail is not to me nor is it to this address. I remove the junk mail, turn the mis-delivered mail sideways to distinguish it from anything else and then raise the red flag for pick up. When I return I see that the red flag is down but the mail is still there. I am not authorized nor qualified to do the postal service’s job. I do not look at strangers mail. It is private! So now someones first class mail is two weeks late. Mail carriers are not “doing us a favor” by performing their job. We have reported this carrier on several occasions with no improvement. To all the neighbors that don’t get their mail, check in unrelated mail boxes. It is probably there. If anyone wants to address this thru the legal system, I’m in.

Stanwood post office lost TWO of my packages within ONE day of each other - I ordered them from different places. I called yesterday about it and the lady said she'd ask around and call me back. She never did. Today I called again and re-explained the situation. They called back to tell me that the truck's GPS showed it came to my address and that they talked to the driver. One of the package's address was missing my unit # (I live in condos) and they still delivered it, the driver said she "knew who I was" so she left it on my door... I have not even lived there a full year. This should have gone straight to the post office as it had no unit #. I have packages delivered often to my house and I've never had them not show up. Terrible customer service. Two packages do not get delivered two days in a row and they're doing nothing about it.

Was expecting a 2 day signature signed special delivery package. I wasn't home when they came to deliver it but saw it on my door cam that they attempted delivery. Why wasn't an "attempted deliver" note put on my door or left in my mail-box?? No other attempt has been made since and it's been 3 days.

The postal carriers should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of effort during this last patch of snowy weather. I live on Camano Island and have not had my mail delivered in about ten days. Unacceptable. If they can't get their truck up a one-block incline, which I understand, then they should darn well put the sack on their back and hike it up. The mail is a sacred trust. I am disgusted with their ineptitude and lack of integrity.

I think mail is delayed by snow but I can’t find anywhere online that says when it’ll start being delivered again, it’s been a full week without mail. I really like my carrier but I’m getting worried about late mail items. I’ll keep looking online but my bet is I just have to wait...and not on hold by phone! Shoot

“Unable to deliver item, problem with address”. Hmmm, USPS delivers here faithfully Monday through Saturday. Sunday they can’t find the address? Happens all the time on Sunday. Do the backup or contract people delivering on the “off” days get training on reading maps or know how to find locations? I mean the addresses are really easy to find intersections, especially where the road names are numbers...

I talked with my very friendly mail lady and found out that there is a theft ring in our area, well, most of Stanwood and Camano Island. They have been operating in this area for years. She said Christmas time is especially bad and now at tax refund time. She said the best way to prevent theft is to pick up your mail as soon as you possibly can. That way there is nothing for them to take. They will use hooks to fish out mail and packages from lock boxes and what they discard will be put into other mail boxes as they work their way down the street, or left in a pile somewhere down the road. They have used small bombs in the multiple family lockers and used vice grips to turn individual locks on lock boxes to get your mail. She said she will honk for me when she comes so I can hear it’s time for me to get out there before it's stolen. I appreciate her for caring about this.

Hi, rating service is normally very good, however tonight I was to receive a package which was not delivered. However the tracking number report said you tried to deliver but you left notice and I had to schedule a re delivery. As of 701 pm you had done neither as I was in my garage which is in full view of the mail box. I normally would not complain but this has happened several times before. It is usually not our regular gal, she is really great. But if you cannot deliver say you can’t make it, do not lie about it. Just say so. Kenney Bennett.

Stanwood Post Office must leave their phone off the hook, so you can not call or fax!!! I've been on hold for 86.52 minutes with the USPS 800 number. Tracking states Aug 16th - delivery attempted, customer requested delivery address change, and package forwarded.!!! Tracking states Aug 17th - delivery attempted, notice left. None of this happened! The recipients were both home both days, with front door and windows open.

Went to the Stanwood PO yesterday 8/18/15 to drop off an ebay/paypal commercial rate package. And upon the advice given to me personally by my usual Postal employees that I should always get a receipt for, simply asked for one and was abruptly and rudely refused stating they scan packages at the end of the day and since I was getting a commercial rate was not entitled to one. The exact quote was "We don't have to". My local PO automatically gives them to me and it's under their advice that I should get them, this has happened many hundreds of times and simply takes a matter of seconds to accomplish. Additionally when circumstances have dictated I drop off at other PO's never have I been refused nor even suggested to I was not entitled. Now I know this will come as a shock but here it is a day later and guess what? No tracking is apparent and the package is not showing as having been accepted. I guess I know now why my normal postal workers were so adamant about getting the package scanned in and receiving a receipt as I simply have no way of proving now that the package was sent and remain vulnerable to a chargeback. Never in all my years of dealing with the postal service have I been treated so rudely or should I say mistreated and won't soon forget it....... :-(

Let me guess...it was the mid aged lady who's usually at the left end side of the counter, with white hair? She sometimes hums her way up to launching a passive-aggressive attack on her unsuspecting customer. Often innocent questions (needed for information) are seen as reasons to smirk at your dumbness, while practically calling you, well, "dumb."

Yup, that would be the one..... Too bad to hear little has apparently changed overall since I followed up my original experience with a few well placed formal complaints to which I received a very nice and quite apologetic letter from a supervisor assuring me no such thing would be happening there again........ :-(

I usually end up with the "white haired lady" and have never had any problems with her. She has always been pleasant and friendly. Perhaps the customer attitude has a lot to do with the interaction!!!!!

Customer attitude had nothing to do with it. If you had read the original post or been capable of comprehension then you should have been able to discern the problem having been her refusal to give me a receipt for a package I dropped off in direct contradiction of the Post offices policy at the time. I have in fact a letter here in my possession from the district post master proving that fact and apologizing for her mistake and certainly you weren't there so.... And lastly, this issue was resolved 3 years ago with the P.O's assurance it would never happen again. And so in conclusion, your opinion Vita is shallow, worthless and three years too late... / story

Mr Haskell. I am sad to read that you think I am shallow and you are so vain that you thought I was writing about you. I did read your original post as well as the comment made by Utsi and your response a year later---that didn't seem to affect you. I was commenting on the post by Utsi who undoubtedly was not there either at the time your issue occurred. I think there is too much negativism in this world, and we all have a bad day sometimes or customers that can be just plain rude. Have a nice day

Vita, I am a continuing customer at this branch and I've seen this particular employee behave rudely not only to myself but toward others. If people using this section to tell the truth about their own experiences with the postal service or an employee is helpful to the postal service, why should you have a problem with it? If it helps you to know Vita, I've never had an issue with any of the other employees there - they've all been helpful and quite friendly. So you see Vita, it isn't about whether Mr. Haskell and I have 'negative world views' - no, we have brains and as such, every good-willed person who enters the PO, such as ourselves, has the normal expectation of being treated with respect at the post office.

I've lived in Stanwood for 17 years and I've owned a
business right in town for 13. I have had nothing but problems with this
Post Office. Doing business thru the mail is very risky in Stanwood
because of this Post Office. Inconsistent mail delivery. I still have no idea when the mail will comes
and sometimes they don’t even deliver it.
Every time I have to go into the actual Post Office, the line of people
is long and the help behind the counter is minimal. Usually only one very slow person to service
20 people in line. I’ve witnessed this
with my own eyes for years. It doesn’t take
much effort to see that this Post Office is very mismanaged and needs better supervision.

Outstanding customer service. These hardworking associates are a reflection of their amazing Post Master. You can tell that she cares deeply for her job and her employees. For that her employees return the favor by working as hard as she does. I have been a customer for over 13 years and not once was there ever a problem. I buy and sell on ebay and I trust Stanwood Post Office to get the packages moving in the right direction and they do it every time. Some of my items are valued over $10,000 and you should see the care they take while processing each package. So I give all the Stanwood associates and their amazing Post Master 5 Star rating! They deserve that and more! Thanks for all you do and have done over the years! Kind Regards Jim

This may make some of you sad, but I must inform you:
Dishonorable people follow the mail truck and pick up the packages RIGHT AFTER usps drops them off at the door step! This is true folks, sorry! They caught 2 groups doing it in the seattle area. Also, substitute mail carriers have been caught stealing mail (gift cards, etc). ALSO, people have been caught at the DISTRIBUTION center stealing (yes: USPS). This is rampant folks, all across the country! Get a bolted down mailbox with a strong lock, have your packages held at the post office, get insurance, and send CERTIFIED so they must get a signature. In my opinion, and I love the Post Office, UPS is safer as it is a private company so it can't just plead ignorance when people don't get their packages. God Bless. We have zombies among us (no other way to discribe them), please be aware.

I live on camano island, Stanwood usps is by far the worst possible post office. Waiting for a package forget about it they refuse to deliver any package regardless of its size. I have to pick it up myself every time, why I have a mailbox I don't know. When I go to pick up my packages the lines are horrible because they only ever have one person assisting customers and often time two other employees standing around not even trying to act busy. Its no wonder the usps is loosing millions every year!

Horrible post office! My daughter who lives on camano island and all the packages have to go thru stanwood first . She still has not received her christmas package which was mailed out on dec 6th and arrived on her doorstep on dec 12th ( after we tracked it down). She never got the package even tho it said it was delivered. Can someone give me some answers?? I didnt have it insured. I believe in the usps!!! I am really ticked off. Alot of special momentos in there. We think someone took it and it had to be delivered to the wrong house. There were 2 other packages that said they were delivered the same day and she never got them either

Try calling and talking to someone about your lost package it took me 1 1/2 hour on hold to talk to someone that just gave me the... well it was delivered.
