Sent my husband in to ship my mom's mothers day gift to her since I work during PO hours. It was properly boxed in a flat-rate shipping box, labelled properly, sealed securely and everything inside was securely packed. We were just sending it standard...no insurance, basic shipping, not even out of state. The woman at the counter demanded to know specifically what items were inside the box, despite her questions about liquids or perishables being answered, but when my husband couldn't list every single individual item in the box, she refused to ship it. Luckily he was able to get in touch with me at work and find out what all I had sent. If your staff needs to ask basic questions before shipping, that's understandable, but it is none of your staff's business what specific items I am sending to my mother if I'm not purchasing insurance or mailing internationally. Our feeling is that your staff member just didn't care to do her job ten minutes before closing (since neither my husband nor myself have EVER been required to provide a detailed packing list for shipping flat rate before today) and gave my husband a hard time so she could avoid dealing with our parcel. From now on we'll be using Fed-Ex since they're happy to pick up the box at my husband's work and our right to privacy is always respected. I do not recommend using this post office for any reason since they are always hostile towards customers (I have been in on 13 different occasions...all unpleasant experiences)...and I don't understand why people who so clearly despise their jobs continue to be employed. I even got attitude from them when I went to buy stamps for our wedding invitations (my first interaction with this PO). No "Congratulations" or anything...not even a smile...just a nasty attitude because I wanted the cute wedding stamps rather than standard stamps and a speech about how ridiculous and expensive weddings are. I ended up leaving and just ordering the stamps online. THAT is how bad the staff is here...so bad that I would choose to pay shipping and wait a week for what I can walk up and get three blocks away from my house. Thankfully I don't often have reason to use this PO, and going forward I'll make a better effort to avoid it entirely. I suggest looking into what is making these people so miserable in their jobs, because it reflects in their work and is driving paying customers away.

It is 2/22/19 and I am still waiting for delivery of a package that was received by this post office 2/13/19. I finally asked the carrier in writing where my package was. Instead of delivering it, he took it back to the post office. This is one of MANY problems we have had with this post office and this carrier.

I sent two packages in Uzbekistan more than one month ago. One of them is priority express which guaranteed 5 days shipping. Both never arrived! This is first time happened to us. Uzbekistan is not receiving any packages from the US since August, we were told, and no one knows why. Does someone know what happens? I sent so many baby clothes to my 3 month old cousin that may be won't arrive tor will arrive too late. I'm so sad! I hope they will arrive for Christmas.

I had to send a package by priority Express which guarantees 1- day shipping in MOST destination in the US. East coast, for example, will not be delivered if you drop off your package at 4pm cut off time. To ship a package to NY the next day, I had to do a bunch of researches and make numerous phone calls. Each branch seems to run on a different schedule than other branches, so it's wise to call ahead and make sure.As far as cut off times, from talking to an associate at Lynden post office, it didn't sound like next day shipping to NY is available, but if I found out, I will update. At Mt. Baker station, cut off time for next day shipping to NY, according to the associate there, is 11 AM. At downtown Bellingham location on Magnolia ST is 12 PM. If someone desperately needed to send it off next day, and the truck left, and you are willing to drive, Marysville post office near Premium outlet would be 2:45PM truck leaving at 3PM.As far as pricing, Fedex or UPS, you are looking at about 100 dollars for my own (not USPS) large box about 4lbs with 14 by 15 by 5. (more or less depending on arrival time..) With USPS, it's about 51 dollars, but if you pay and print at USPS.COM, it's only about 37 dollars, so it's less than half the price. None can beat that price.Lastly, Lynden post office has always answered the phone, (even on Saturday) answer all your questions, are really informational. And if you create an account online, you can order shipping supplies free of charge; the come to your door within 3-4 business days. USPS is the best! One note on Saturday shipping, although Lynden post office is closed on Tuesday, you can still bring a prepaid package before 12PM and it will go out on Saturday; saves you a drive to Bellingham!
