Since I live at Lake Prince Woods, my mail goes out from here so sorry, I cannot make a rating of any kind. (the few times I've been in the post office, however, I had good service)
Suggestion: In my hometown, photos and/or names of veterans are posted for Veterans Day. I live at Lake Prince Woods and have names of our veterans but obviously there are many in Suffolk I do not know. I just thought, if possible, it might be nice to have a poster where so many people could see the names of our veterans and honor them on their day.

The boarded up windows at this location do not provide a welcoming sight into our beautiful historic downtown district. When will these be fixed. The sight of blight is not acceptable.
Been trying to contact their office via telephone (8am-1230pm) and (1:30pm-5pm) but I don’t think anyone works there.
Moved into a newly built home and had a package delivered, but “returned to sender” because “person has moved without a forwarding address.” We went to the post office and were assured that our address is in the system (Have mailbox keys) but still this happens. They need better workers. Something ain’t right seeing that there are many others who have issues with Suffolk Usps.
I'm trying to get information on how to rent a box. I've called suffolk on main street and no one answer the phone. Really. But you want our business. Don't publish the number if you are not going to answer the phone. My job hours make it hard to get there by closing time
Try the published number and let it ring and ring and ring when you get transfered to the operator, then wait to get auto-disconnected after minutes of ringing. Try again; same result. Is there a number that works to speak with an agent?
This is Friday and I have come to the post office at 10 o’clock to mail a package that needed to be mailed today and there is no one in the post office the carrier said she did not know that anybody was going to come today how can you have a sign it says we’re going to be open and they’re not Whaleyville gets a short end of the stick most of the time but I’m not going to Suffolk I will just explain to this company that we have no post office it works.
I find it hard to believe that the postal workers cannot get my address right when delivering mail and packages. I have gone through the official post office website, talked to them there and physically went up to the post office in Suffolk and all I get is we dont know what is going on. Today I had a package that said it was delivered to my garage or another area on the property, I spent a good amount of time trying to find it and no luck. Tried calling the post office and it just rings and rings then hangs up. This is unsatisfactory and needs to be fixed immediatly. I will continue to complain until they fix their problem
I have informed delivery and have been expecting important mail for 2 weeks. Last week I went into the post office to inquire about it and was told by a delivery supervisor that they delivered every day and were no longer backlogged. She did not seem concerned at all. So where is my mail? On Saturday a Priority Mail package was left in my mailbox that belonged to someone else. I just tried to call the post office to report this and the phone rang for over 3.5 minutes before it disconnected. I took the package to the correct address. I understand they may be short staffed but that doesn’t make up for the fact that mail is being delivered to wrong addresses.
I have sent several packages into Suffolk, VA and none of them ever get there. There is a theft issue in the post office there and no one seems to care! This is terrible and sad at the same time, postal service workers poaching packages!!! Wow! Something has to be done so I plan to keep pressing the issue until the problem is fixed!!
I have the mail app and it says my mail should be delivered and it never gets delivered. When my mail does come it comes in the office mailbox. Thankfully we have an amazing property manager who always makes sure we receive our mail.

Why is it everyday i never receive any of my mail? When i order packages my packages are small enough to fit into my mailbox and its never left in my box. The mail person is to lazy to bring them to my door instead makes the manager or maintaines bring them to me which is fine but it's your job. I call and call an call and no one ever answers. Please address this issue as there are alot of angry customers who don't get mail or packages after it's said delivered.
I'm the property manager at The Vilias At Reid Landing in Suffolk and myself as well as my tenants aren't receiving any mail. The mail comes at different times different days and the mail is never in the correct mail boxes. It's a concern as well as myself and my tenants who have important mail and bills that need to be paid.
I dropped of a return package and it was never shipped out. I just checked the status of my return and it's saying my package is ready to be picked up.. by me. The 877 number can't give me a reason it wasn't shipped and this location NEVER answers the phone!
I signed up for the thing that shows you what you’re getting in the mail that day and Saturday i didn’t receive what i was suppose to receive it didn’t come Monday either
We have not received mail in 3 days. I have tried to contact the USPS to no avail. I was trying to physically not go to my post office just to ask a question since parking is limited and getting in and out can be hairy! Why have a phone and listed number if it isn’t answered?
After 3 days frantically trying to discover the location of a package that showed as being delivered to my work place on Monday, March 22nd, it was physically delivered today, Thursday, March 25th. I made numerous phones calls to your N. Main Street location to no avail as nobody would answer the phone. I initiated a missing mail claim, contacted the 1-800- customer service number and low and behold, my package was finally delivered. This entire situation was unprofessional and ridiculous.
Building a home almost worth a half million dollars in Suffolk just to find out after the fact that we aren’t allowed to have a mail box?! Shame on you postmaster general! Walking to an apartment style mailbox is not what we signed up for. Blind sided for sure!
Oct,30.2020.With the tropical storm going through Suffolk, Va. at 30 to 50 mph my mail was just laid on a plant stand beside my door, and not in my MAIL BOX which is a violation of postal regulations !.I am lucky that my mail was not blown off my porch.The Post Master General will be contacted about the slack mail delivery in mine and other neighborhoods in Suffolk, Va.!!!
Yet again another package returned to sender because it was not delivered by your postal staff. The first package was due to be delivered the day after Christmas. I took the day off because I knew it required a signature. Never got my package. Went to the site and they had to inform me that my package was taken back to the postal office. So I had to call and find out when I could collect my package. The lady on the phone (BLESS HER HEART) told me that there should of been a green letter on my door or mailbox explaining where I could get my package. I told her I did not get any kind of notice from ya'll. I have to follow up with the tracking number. So her "excuse" was they have too many Holiday help to figure out who to ask what happened. (REALLY CHICK?!). So after standing in line for 30 minutes I finally got my package.
And yet again, today I got another notification from the sender that my package was returned due to "un-deliverable address return to send." Last time I checked, I am getting mail everyday. So I am now having to wait longer to get my package.
I just don't understand. If you hate your job that much or don't want to work there. THEN QUIT or FIND ANOTHER JOB!!! You are wasting our tax dollars!!!!!
And don't bother calling. The post master is NEVER in nor is any sort of manager or supervisor. Ridiculous!!!
Dear post office. It pains me to have to complain yet again. Last year a package delivery man decides my boxes of 35lbs dog food were to heavy for him to deliver and left a note for me to pick up. To which I have complained because the post office limit is 70lbs and if the mail person could not deliver that maybe they should seek another career. If I didn't have a problem with going and picking up my own dog food I would definitely not order it and have it delivered. You did take my complaint into account which I am thankful for, even tho the delivery person stacked in such a way I couldn't get to my door. I did take pictures but didn't want to complain. I got tired of the mail persons cockiness because that kept repeating and I canceled my subscription and went to pick up my own dog food. However this weekend I was away and was unable to pick up food so I ordered it again. Surely it had to be the same person to deliver it unless they put me on some "delivery shitty list". Why you might ask. Oh my. Well I ordered 3 35lbs dog food bags and I saw them through my glass door and well they were all backed up to my door I had to keep pushing and trying to squeeze my self through. However when I got outside I saw four big boxes where the one on the bottom although the same size was squished. I lifted three boxes and realized the fourth one, the squished one, although large, was really light. Most likely around 10lbs since I could pick it up with ease. Now that was frustrating and I was gonna drive straight to the post office and complain, but then I realized that's not my box! Yes, he delivered someone else's box and squished thinking he will get me back for I guess making him do his job that he is paid for. I guess I will not order anything large any more and have it miles through the USPS because I don't know if the mail person will try and hurt me in some way considering he has a personal vendeta with me. However please if anyone from Sussex Ct complains about their damaged goods, please take this email into consideration. Thank you very/r A fed up customer.
I had my mail held while we were out of town from 20 Dec to 5 Dec, to be delivered on 6 Dec. We returned from our trip late 5 Dec and I understand that due to the weather it was difficult to deliver mail. However, when the delivery person delivered to our next door neighbor whose snow was piled high in front of their box and not ours whose was not nearly as high, I questioned that. It was about 2pm and even though the post office was closed I phoned hoping someone would answer. I told them what happened and that I would pick up my mail on Monday. When I went in this morning I was told that the mail was on the truck and that the mail person said I was going to pick it up on the previous Saturday which would have been impossible since the post office was closed by the time my mail was "supposedly" to be delivered to my house. Now I have to wait until late this afternoon when the mail is delivered to get approximately 3 weeks worth of mail - that is if she delivers it. I am not happy and this should not happen.
