I get about one-third of the mail that I am scheduled to receive, and I suspect it is being delivered to my next-door neighbor, who simply destroys it instead of giving it to me or returning it to the mailbox. I have missed checks, important bills, tax statements, etc., and I simply don't know what to do about it. I have visited the Oakton Post Office and talked to the manager, but the problems persist.

Why do I continously get someone else's mail? The performance of the mail carrier in truck 1799 during the weekdays is the absolute worst!! I would like a response in writing from the Manager of the Oakton Branch. I have personally delivered DOZENS of misdelivered mail to the Oakton Branch or to whoever it was addressed too. Why hasn't this person been fired?

Lived at the same address in Oakton for several years and had many experiences with mis-delivered mail, damage packages, and mis-handled packages, etc. Almost always it's the same carrier. You can walk in the post office to complain and when they ask you who you are talking about you can just say, "you know who I'm talking about,," and sheepishly they admit that they do. What Does that tell you? I've been to other local post office branches where everyone was so friendly and helpful, and they also knew about this carrier and the many issues with the Oakton branch. Often I receive tracking information that says my package was delivered to my mailbox only to discover that it has NOT been delivered. Sometimes it may show up in the next day or two or at other times I've had to retrieve it from the actual post office myself. He/they have left packages sitting at my door in the rain with no plastic bag covering them for protection that other carriers commonly use. When presented with boxes that have been soaking wet, boxes that I literally had to drain the water out of before I could bring them in the house, the manager of the Oakton branch actually told me, "they arent allowed to use plastic bags" to protect the packages that are delivered when it may be raining outside; however, in speaking to other carriers in other branches , they say these are made available to them to use at their discretion. This particular carrier at the Oakton branch has literally been fired 3 times and each time, through the union, has gotten his job back. Ridiculous and absurd. Ultimately, the Oakton manager's best solution was to tell me that he'll retire one day. What kind of service is that?

I had an expensive package that was mis-sent from Cincinnati, Ohio to Oakton, Va. PO- instead of the Springfield, Va. PO, where it was supposed to go. The scanning shows that it did arrive at the Oakton PO- BUT no scanning after that- Spoke to someone at the Oakton PO and they say it was sent on to Springfield PO on the 29th of August. No proof of this AT ALL. They didn't scan the package. Tracking only shows IN TRANSIT since the 29th?? This was a Priority package valued at $200. I don't believe it ever left the Oakton, Va. PO. Did someone in the postal system steal my package?

I am irate. I live in Colorado and sent gold jewelry to my daughter in Vienna, Virginia. USPS tracking shows it was delivered at 11:35 am on Saturday July 16, 2016. Family was home and no package was delivered. Package was either delivered to the wrong address or it was stolen by the USPS mail carrier. I am pissed. Now, my daughter will not receive anything from me tomorrow on her 21st birthday. Bastards!!
