I went to the post office in Oakland Tn 38060 on May 27, 2023 at 11:30. The door was locked and the clerk said she was closed and was not taking anymore customers. The posting on the door and on the website clearly states that it closes at 12:00 pm on Saturday. I had to drive to another city to mail my packages, because my local post office closed 30 minutes early. Good thing I was only 15 minutes from the Somerville Tn location. That’s a real bummer, poor customer service.

We had ordered a Christmas gift for a family member last October. We waited patiently until Christmas, realizing Covid was affecting manufacture and delivery. Christmas came, we put a picture of item in a box and wrapped it for the gift. We continued to patiently wait until the middle of January when we received a notice from the vendor our package had been delivered. It had been "delivered either in the mailbox or next to it". The item was too large for in the mailbox so had to be next to it. No such luck. Called the post office and they had a "picture" of the package - it weighed 0 pounds - not possible. It would have weighed 50# or better. We had a substitute mail carrier who couldn't find our package once the problem was given to him. There is no way our package was delivered since I was home that day and happened to see the mail carrier come down our street. I checked our mail box soon after he drove by - so no chance someone could have stolen it. I'm not sure where the problem occurred but I'm very disappointed with the response from the Post Office. My problem was basically dismissed - out of sight, out of mind, If the squeaky wheel goes away why pursue it? We had to spend twice as much to purchase another one. It was delivered to our garage door NOT our mailbox!

I had a professor that I took at the University of Memphis mail out some letters of recommendation for me. They took nearly a month to deliver from Oakland, TN to Buffalo, NY.

No mail delivery on Saturday, Jan 13, 2017. I had mail for pickup at 80 Austin Drive, but at 5:12 PM CST I still have had no delivery or pickup, so I will have to wait Sunday and Monday (a Holiday) before I get mail on Tuesday, Jan 16. Shame that the PostMaster is so incompetent that She can't insure mail delivery even in terrible conditions. Maybe she should look for a living wage job at McDonalds.

I have been hesitant about complaining about my postal service but I feel it has been almost a year now that our carrier has taken over this route from the old carrier which I will say was very efficient. We were spoiled. At least once every week or two I get someone else's mail and at times I find the mailbox door left open. Today I got 3 pieces of mail for two of my neighbors . I can't help but wonder who got mine and how much I have failed to get especially since I am waiting on a check I have not yet received. I don' want anyone fired, just trained properly.
