Made it to the front of the line by 3:25. I was told that I should have had an appointment. I pleaded "Please, this is the second time that I have left early trying to get this taken care of. I picked up the application in person and they didn't tell me that I needed an appointment. It only takes 5 minutes, please?" To which the "head clerk" responded, crassly "No, it takes 15 minutes and you don't have an appointment and I don't think I'll have time." (?!?) She went on... "I have a customer on the phone and I don't know how long that is going to take. If it takes more than 15 minutes, I can't do it today. Will you wait that long?" I said I would. A moment later another postal worker took me back, took my child's picture, I signed and paid and it took no longer than 4 minutes. Seriously. When did compassion go out of style? I really want to let the "head clerk" know that whatever is bothering her, she is spreading malcontent in her wake. Don't be so mean, please :)
