I received a notification in my mailbox regarding a package that had to be delivered to our home address. I signed and initialed the notification authorizing the post office to deliver the package and leave it on our porch. The first notification was placed in our mailbox this past Tuesday. On Wednesday of this week I received a second notification requesting a signature and to return the form to the mail carrier. The second form have been signed, initialed and placed in our mailbox by Wednesday. I would have expected the package to be delivered bye. I tried contacting the Canonsburg Pike Street Post Office on Saturday morning. I confirmed the phone number with a post office employee with a McMurray branch. The phone was not answered from 9:30 in the morning until 2 o'clock in the afternoon when the branch close on Pike Street. I tried numerous times to reach an individual at the post office to no avail. I have never experienced such poor customer service from the Post Office. The only person that was helpful was Darlene and at the McMurray branch post office. She explained the process to me and she also recommended eye contact the Canonsburg Ranch as well as the annex. In speaking with the gentlemen at the annex location he it was not helpful at all. I would have expected someone to answer the phone at the Canonsburg Pike branch at one point on this Saturday morning. If they're not going to answer the phone while you can pay for the service of one. This also leads me to another criticism on the delivery system for our mail. I live in a residential planned development. 97% of the development receive the delivery of their mail at the same time. The mail carrier then drives to another separate development up on the hill and delivers all the mail for this development. There are numerous houses that have been built in this development, close to 300 or more. After the mail is delivered to this other development, the carrier then drives back to our development and delivers the mail for approximately a half of a street of townhouses and our street that I live on, which is a cul-de-sac. We have to wait until the end of the day after all the mail has been.delivered in another development until we receive ours. I don't understand the logic of delivering the mail this way. We are all one Community and part of the other 98%. We should have our mail delivered at the same time the other 98% of our homes receive theirs and then the mail carrier can go on to the next development up on the hill. I really would like a response on this issue because I've lived here 13 years and I've never been able to get a straight answer.
