Our mail box lid is often left open when mail is delivered 2 problems 1 anyone passing by can see our mail and have the opportunity to take what does not belong to then 2 mail gets wet. This is a new mail box so the problem is not mechanical. Please advise carriers of this issue

I am in the midst of one of the most unbelievably bizarre and astronomically frustrating experiences of my entire life with regard to the FOUR MONTH WAIT I've endured despite several repeated attempts to have my current address properly updated from my previous residence. I mean, let's be real for a minute. I know that things sometimes don't happen the way they're supposed to no matter what precautions one takes, and I also realize that everyone makes mistakes and occasionally might even repeat that same mistake more than a few times. Everything is always forgivable, however that does not necessarily resolve the fact that I have over 6000 dollars of checks lost somewhere in the system all because this particular post office has LOST MY CHANGE OF ADDRESS FORM FOUR TIMES!!!! Like I said, its forgivable but it is worn out its welcome and I need for this stupid ridiculously outrageous nightmare to be done with as of yesterday. I am not happy at all and I am so ready to organize a major revolution against the incompetence of this nation's federal agencies and their failure to recognize and address this level of incompetence and subsequently remove it from our collective reality.

I took today off work so I could be home to receive a very value package from Finland. I tracked the package from the time it left Finland. I was receiving daily messages about its progress. This morning I received a message that it was out for delivery. I called the Milford post office just before 5:00 pm because it still wasn’t here. The gentleman told me they were still out making deliveries. At 5:36 I received an update that stated “No authorized recipient - notice left.” I live in a two family home. The second story, #2. There are two separate sidewalks to our entrances. I went to look in my mailbox, No Notice. I went to the front of the house to the 1st floor mailbox - NO NOTICE. I called the post office back and spoke to a gentleman who said that he would send the carrier back out with my package. It is now 6:45 pm and I still don’t have my package. Of course no one is at the post office answering the phones now, I tried to call again. I am really disappointed. There was some junk mail with my name in the 1st floors mailbox, (my mailbox is on the opposite side of the house ), but NO NOTICE that they even tried to deliver the package. Did he/she even come by. For all I know that junk mail was sitting in the 1st floor mailbox for days. I lost a whole days pay waiting on this package that never arrived yet someone took the time to make an entry “No recipient - notice left.” I feel as though someone may have been running late, wanted to get back to the hub, and decided not to make the stop or was to lazy to come around to my mailbox, because no physical notice was in either mailbox. I am really angry especially since that last gentleman I spoke to said the carrier would be sent back out to deliver package and that didn’t happen. Not even a phone call. I have been an avid supporter of the USPS service, bypassing the more convenient delivery services. I ship many packages around the country and overseas every year via USPS. however after today’s experience I maybe be rethinking that and encouraging others to do so as well. I sincerely hope I receive my package tomorrow.
