My package was sent through this facility and was either stolen or lost. I filed a claim three months ago and have not heard back from them. I call everyday and cannot get anyone on the line at this post office. I live 4 hours away and cannot go there in person. I've called the National Post Office and cannot get anyone on the line there. Their automated system tells me that the claim has been investigated and resolved but does not say what the resolution was. The package has not been received, it hasn't been returned, and the post office is entirely responsible for this complete and utter failure. The package contained hundreds of dollars worth of items. I fear my only course of action is to sue and file a small claim in district court. It appears that the only way I can force the employees at Shirley A. Chrisholm Post Office to give a damn is to threaten their jobs. Still, I fear they won't care but at least if I take legal action they'll be forced to compensate me somehow.

Maybe postal workers should read the reviews. Who governs them?? The employees laugh and joke around while the line is out the door. Customers are frustrated because packages are not being delivered or left with random people. Customer service skills leave a lot to be desired.

This post office is in dire need of a customer service overhaul. Although I haven't run into any rude personnel the service at the location is the slowest. I have no problem waiting in line, but when you have one window clerk to assist 20 customers or more on a regular basis, there's a problem. Management is constantly reacting at this location instead of having an organized plan in place before they unlock the doors to begin helping customers. In addition, I've had delivery attempt notifications left in my mailbox when I was at home all day waiting for packages. How does that happen? Oh, you're not walking up the 9 stairs to ring my doorbell. Absolutely ridiculous!

As usual, and once again, while sitting right at home, the mail carrier left the "sorry we missed you" card in the mail box. HOW HARD IS IT TO RING THE DOOR BELL?!?!? WE ARE SITTING RIGHT HERE! JUST WALK UP THE VERY FEW STEPS AND RING THE DAMN BELL!I went into the post office yesterday (for another package that has not been delivered, separate and apart from the undelivered one that I recieved the card notification for) and the line wrapped around the interior of the building. I just turned around and left, I'm far too pregnant to stand in line for 45 minutes ONCE AGAIN for a package that no one ever attempted to deliver.I'm tired of this place beyond reason, is there ANY way to bypass the USPS all together and just stick with UPS?

I'm ready to relocate just to be rid of this post office. They don't even attempt to deliver a package most times (with the exception of one carrier). I've LITERALLY sat in my car and watched the mail carrier about to place the already filled out "sorry we missed you" card in my mail box. No attempt made. Then when i asked her for my package, she doesn't look at all surprised that i was standing behind her, watching as my mail was not delivered. So I almost always have to go to the post office and stand in the ridiculously long line, just to be dealt with a disgruntled employee who seems to be bothered that anyone is even in the post office. Nevermind the fact that once you go into the post office, you will be waiting online for at least half an hour, at very least. This is the worst post office of all US Post Offices. And on more than one occasion, my mail has been delivered to my neighbors, who aren't the most trust worthy.

Dishonest people sort and deliver our mail. Just had a newborn and I never received his SS# which I had to reapply for and change my delivery address 5months later, also I was told his passport was mailed on 3/30/15 never received that either, the young lady at the post office said they don't deliver passports it comes directly from the passport office. So I guess it magically appear in my mail box once mailed ...idiot...Cameras need to be placed all over this facility or government documents need to be scanned before handing over to the post office and scanned for signed or by the person sorting and delivering the mail. Something need to be done....

This post office is horrible. One of the carriers / delivery men either stole my package or left it with an unknown person. I went to the post office to find out what happened or if it was there. My package wasn't there and there were no supervisors to speak to. I call almost everyday and no one answers the phone. Ridiculous!

this place sucks. Worse post office in Brooklyn, possibly NYC. When you call, the phone is always busy and no one here believes in customer service. Trash.

This is the worst post office I have ever dealt with. Days before Christmas these bastards have given my child's Christmas tablet to somebody else in my building. Left no note no nothing. When I inquire they know nothing!! I HATE this place!!!

I've filed a few complaints (ignored forms requesting that my mail be forwarded to a new address; ignored online request for package redeliveries; one female employee's consistently abhorrent attitude toward all customers, etc.) over 10 years about this post office and I have even been told by customer service (at the 800 number) that the post office has received so many complaints that it's being investigated. More recently, I figured that service would improve as the neighborhood has gentrified (since gentrifiers are more likely to follow through on complaints about deeply substandard service). But, nothing has changed. The folks here operate with impunity. Don't forget to make the sign of the cross before you enter.

They lost a certified letter and have no answers as to where it is. Completely clueless and unprofessional personnel working at this post office.

Slow service, rude personnel; the mail carriers are the worst-they put mail in wrong boxes continuously and our box is labeled with name and house number!
