I showed up on Saturday at 11:40 AM to pick up a package containing meds for my girlfriend who had a very serious surgery. The lady behind the counter said that the computers were closed at 11:30 AM and that I could not receive the package even though it was there and I had the pick-up receipt. (This post office closes at 1 PM on Saturdays.) I argued on behalf of my girlfriend and got the old "policy" and "protocol" arguments plus come back on Monday and speak to Jimmy. Rest assured that someday there will be a fatality because a customer did not receive their meds over petty post office policy. They will have to answer for it. This anti-customer behavior calls into question whether there are too many post offices as other services are much more receptive.
