THE IRVINGTON POST OFFICE IS SO BAD I CAN BARELY DESCRIBE IT. THEY DO NOT OPERATE ANYTHING LIKE THEY USED TO WHEN I MOVED TO IRVINGTON IN 1982. THEY ARE GOING TO KEEP IT UP UNTIL JEFF BEZOS PURCHASE AND PRIVATIZE THE US POSTAL SERVICE AND THEY ALL RECEIVE A PAY REDUCTION AND CAN BYE BYE TO THEIR CUSHY FEDERAL BENEFITS AND PENSION PLANS. THIS IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN VERY SOON WITH THE US POSTAL SERVICE BECAUSE THERE ARE THOSE THAT HAVE THE MONEY AND THE MEANS TO HAVE IT PRIVATIZED AND REDUCE THEIR PAY TO $15 DOLLARS AN HOUR MINIMUM WAGE AND GIVE THEM VERY LIMITED BENEFITS. THEY CAN TRY AND FORCE THROUGH A UNION BUT THEY WILL WANT UNION DUES TO REPRESENT FOR THEM. SO TRUST AND BELIEVE THE UNIONS WILL WANT TO SEE THE US POSTAL SERVICE PRIVATIZED AS WELL. BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND UNRELIABLE. EVEN WHEN YOU PAY MORE MONEY FOR SHIPPING AND ALL THOSE OTHER FEATURES THEY PUSH AT YOU TO BUY. FACTS.... WAIT AND SEE. THEY ALSO NEVER EVER ANSWER THE PHONE AND THAT IS A REAL PROBLEM FOR DISABLED RESIDENTS WHOM PHYSICALLY CANNOT GET OVER THERE TO THE POST OFFICE. THEY ARE GOING TO GET SUED BECAUSE THE OFFICE IS SO TINY IT IS NOT REALLY HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE.

Do you know why Irvington is so poor? Because of employees like those that work at Irvington post office. Residents in Irvington would rather spend their money in towns where they are treated with respect like in Maplewood and South Orange. Irvington employees are VERY RUDE, VERY DISRESPECTFUL and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! to say the least. Today, 9/30/22 @ 4:50 pm I simply wanted to drop a letter in the box inside. The doors were already locked. An employee came with the key to let patrons out and I intimated I just wanted to drop my mail in the box. She started complaining to the customers about me (HOW RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL) and pointing to me and the box outside the P.O. building. She goes and gets another employee inside, opens the door to let customers out, and blocked me from entering. The other employee then GRABS the mail out of my hand and drops it in the inside box. RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! I won’t be surprised if my mail doesn’t get to its destination! That’s why people spend their money in richer towns, because they are treated with respect and professionalism. I KNOW EVERYONE WANTS TO GO HOME AT THE END OF THE WOK DAY, I KNOW THAT! I WASN’T GOING UP TO THE WINDOW, I SIMPLY WANTED TO DROP MAIL INSIDE WHEN THE DOOR WAS OPENED AT 4:50 TO LET CUSTOMERS OUT. I WAS NOT ASKING FOR MUCH! Who do the employees at the Irvington P.O think they are????

I have a mail box at the side of my house where all the mail is placed. Instead, the mail was placed at my front door and all my mail got soaking wet. This is inexcusable.

I live at 185 Laurel Avenue in Irvington and I received no mail for the week of Christmas 2021. Received no mail until December 26, 2021. That was very little. Mail that was suppose to be delivered was not and has not been delivered. Is something going on with the mail delivery system. Please advise.

I haven’t received mail in weeks and my package was documented as delivered, but never was delivered to me. I have sent countless emails with no help. Who is in charge and what is happening with mail delivery in Irvington? Also, I want to be clear that the reason I know I’m missing mail and packages is because I send up to receive email notifications when mail is being delivered. I can understand if you under staffed, but almost 2 months of missing mail is beyond ridiculous.

On August 2, 2020, USPS emailed me that they had delivered my package to my front door, However, I never recieved this package and i've also tried tracking my package numerous times, and nothing shows up, as if it was never delivered or shipped. I believe there needs to be a thorough investigation of the USPS store in Irvington NJ, or whoever delt with my package. This isn't the first time, nor am I the only customer who has to go through this.

Every attempt to reach someone at the Irvington, NJ post office is futile! It is a real tragedy that no one Is competent enough to even answer and/or monitor the phones. In addition to providing the WORST possible service, I suspect that some of the employees who are responsible for retrieving mail from boxes are either losing the mail or throwing it away. This is the second incident this year of mail that I sent not being received by the intended recipients, and to make matters worse, I can’t even get through to alert the postal service of my concerns to facilitate an investigation of this ongoing issue. Again, something really needs to be done about the inefficiency and incompetence of the Irvington Postal Service and its employees.

I totally agree with you. I have a tracking till this day and never received the package. A month ago I went in with my concerns, agent took my number along with tracking number, wrote it on some complaint paper and said manager was busy and would call me...a month later and still counting...no reply! 4 times already I get alerts saying they tried to deliver and left a notice...no notice left...I had to go and stand in a ridiculous long line on numerous occasions to retrieve my packages...This place is a joke...it’s so unfortunate to have a local postal office in distance of your home and you can’t get courteous service...I hate to say it, but sometimes we can’t even patronize our own businesses...I’m all for SHUTTING IT DOWN...and rehiring and new staff and that includes MANAGERS and or SUPERVISORS! 😡

A few days ago I did an application online for a P.O. Box for my church and this morning I was going in to complete the transaction by bringing in my identification and proof of address. I arrived at 7:15am because I knew there would be a line. About time I got to the window it was 8am. I told the lady why I was there and handed her the form that I had to print out for the P.O. Box and my identification, just for her to hand back to me stating that she doesn't know how to do that and to come back after 11am. The fact that there's always a line now she should have at least tried or get someone to assist her. It's very convenient that I waited in line for 45 minutes just to be told that I have to come back just to wait in a long line again

I have been sitting here all day tracking a package that was supposed to be delivered. Looked at my phone at 5:00 and it said delivery was attempted at 4:09. That is a blatant lie. I have a whole porch and no one tried to deliver nothing. No documentation left either. They should not be able to get away with lying knowing they never came. How disgusting.

I really need Amazon to officially and only use their own delivery service and stop relying on the USPS. Everytime my packages are "delivered" through them, there's a delay of some kind. For example, yesterday they claim say that they attempted to deliver my package, however, did not ring the doorbell or even bother to read the instructions my landlord gladly placed in front of the building. Furthermore, there wasn't even a note left behind for this "attempted delivery." My building isn't even difficult to access. It's a simple small apartment, so I truly do not understand why my item could not be delivered as promised. I believe someone who's on route got lazy and decided to do a drive by. Get it together!!!!

The Irvington Post Office is one of the worst. I consistently receive notices that my parcels are undeliverable when I work evenings and I am home during the day. When I arrive at the P.O. there are often no less than a dozen people in line with the same complaint. The P.O. would run more smoothly if they would require their employees to actually deliver packages. I have complained in person and on the official P.O. website to no avail. It seems as if the only way to receive satisfaction for my inconvenience is to go in there and act unseemly, which up to this point I have neglected to do. However I am at my wits end with these people who take so little regard to my time and my patience. I am on my way there today to collect a package that they LIED and said was undeliverable and I am beyond pissed.

I went to the P.O. yesterday (4/17/2018) to inquire as to a package I should have received as of 4/10/2018. Was informed by the manager unfortunately the package was sent back, although I never received notice the package was at the P.O. Now, I am signed up to receive text messages informing me of the package progress. Why did I receive progress of the package moving through the postal system with expected delivery for today (4/18/2018)? Last communication received--package being sent back to sender-undeliverable. This P.O. has numerous issues that are sorely in need of correction. If there was someone to answer the telephone perhaps answers could be achieved without gas being wasted to receive flimsy excuses! There is no postal employee to answer the phone, hire a private citizen who is in need of employment to answer and direct calls, although that may be hard to accomplish simply because there would be no viable person that would be able to give an answer.

The post office of Irvington should paid a neighbor of mine for the deliverance of my mail. Some of my mail are being drop off at his address, and he does not live on the same block as me. Having packages mailed to me is a nightmare. They have made false claims that they were unable to gain entry to my front door ( which is false), or filing false claims that they have drop off the packages. I can understand why the post office is losing money.
