Unsafe practices at the Wyandotte and Gregory St Center. I come to work between 6 AM and 7 AM nearly every morning. Gregory is a two lane Street, one lane in each direction. For some reason Postal Employees going to the lot, assume they have the right to pass the traffic on the right, to get to the parking lot (2 seconds ) earlier than if they stay in the line of traffic at Main and Gregory. Then, the reason for this email is a "postal" postal employee that decided to cross Gregory in the middle of a line of traffic, 20 ft south of the designated cross walk, in the dark with his dark blue jacket, very unsafely and then goes "postal" on me when I stopped at the same time I saw him come out of the shadows, claiming he has the right of way to cross the street. If he would have been in the crosswalk, he would have been correct and would have been easily seen. However, he decided to cross in the middle of heavy traffic, not in the safety of the designated cross walk. This was a 6'0 plus bearded gray haired carrier in postal short and dark blue postal jacket. I saw him just after he stepped from the curb. I braked my vehicle to see where he was headed and he started yelling at me, like it was my fault that he was in the middle of the street (not in the post office cross walk) and he was inconvenience because he needed to stop in the middle of street to let the truck ahead of me pass. He was clearly j-walking. In my opinion it is time for the USPS to have a traffic safety talk with the employees at this facility both on their driving to get to work and their pedestrian responsibilities getting across Gregory. Respectfully submitted for your action.
