I received a package to my mailbox on 12/9 that was jammed in so tightly that I had to get a screwdriver and basically destroy the package to get it out. I was doing this, in the dark, on a road with a 55 mph speed limit. When I called the post office, during business hours, to complain no one answers the phone (20 rings). If the mail person is to lazy to put a too-large-for-the-mailbox package on my doorstep I wish they would just put a note in the mailbox and I will go to the post office to pick it up.

I specifically go the the post office closest to my work to mail packages instead of the one closest to my apartment because Mary always calls me sweetie, hun, darling, or other such terms of endearment while assisting me. It gives me the warm and fuzzies.

I don't live in Circle Pines, but I go to this post office because of Mary. She consistently goes the extra mile, remembers me, shows that she loves her job, and treats all her customers like friends. It makes me think of living in a small town where everyone knows and cares about one another. Whether helping me with a package, fun commemorative stamps, a passport, or how a family member moving back to MN should handle postal changes, Mary takes time and shares her experience and professional knowledge. I hope she never retires. Well, not really. When the time is right, her retirement will be well deserved.
