I have repeatedly reported to someone named Angela that answers the phone at the post office, multiple issues with the mail carrier… speeding dangerously through the neighborhood, leaving packages on the roadside because she’s too lazy to put them On the porch, damaging mail, saying inappropriate things, marking things delivered when they clearly are not delivered, mis delivering mail regularly. And every time Angela acts as if she’s surprised and has never heard this information before. This post office and its employees are a joke. But worse, they are dangerous and reckless.

I put 3 cards in the mailbox outside the La Plata P.O. On Sunday, October 23. These were Halloween cards for my grandkids and never made it to Huntingtown, MD. I’ve been hearing of thefts lately, where is the problem? Now I feel like I can’t trust the mail, plus my grandkids didn’t get their special cards. I’m sure someone ripped them open to see if there was cash inside (there was). I can no longer trust the post office, can’t say if it was on the La Plata or Huntingtown end, but I won’t be using either of those post offices again. Greatly disappointed, plus when I complained inside they were underwhelmed.

The mail carrier we have half the time doesn't do their job. Several times over the past few months I've had letters in my mailbox with the flag up to let them know. If they don't have mail for us, they leave not even checking the box. Today they carrier delivered mail to 1 person on the street, turned around in my driveway and SPED away down the street. Can you please retrain your carriers or at least find some that can do their jobs correctly.

Per HSN package tracking, a package was received by the La Plata Post Office 10/27/21 and listed as pending acceptance, as of 11/11/21 it still has not been delivered. Could someone please check on this? Thank you for your time.

To Postmaster of La Plata, Due to late mail arrival. We were informed their will be no mail service at Steeplechase housing development. This is totally unacceptable service since we as tax payers rely only on the unreliable postal service for many decades. I clearly understand why the previous administration wanted to defund the postal service. We need reliable service e.g. UPS or FedX who can provide a better quality of delivery service--if they were able to take over this service. Add'l, a postal clerk KAREN was extremely rude to many of the customers who were inquiring about their mail e.g. we told your not getting any mail period and had alot more derogatory statements to several customers. This is unacceptable customer service and someone should discipline her immediately--there are plenty who are will to provide better quality of service. Finally, there needs to be contingency in place for back up to always have mail delivered in the event something likes this happens. I plan to write my congressmen to inform him/her to move fwd in the near future to defund the postal service and or hire individuals who want to provide a better quality of service. Thank you..

My package was delivered to my PO Box on 3/7 and I checked on 3/9 and it was not there; I checked with the PO on 3/11 with tracking number and it was delivered but they said it put in the wrong box and the person did not return it. Is that not mail theft? The PO told me they would call me back and tell me if they found it and then tell me what to do if they did not find it.

Went into La Plata post office today to drop of a package. Myself and 3 other customers were trying to enter. As we’re trying to make a run for it, the door slammed extremely hard on my arm. So hard that the lady behind me asked if I was okay. Once it opened again, I told the ladies at the counter “that door is going to seriously hurt an older person”. NEITHER of the two ladies acknowledged what myself and another customer was relaying, in regards to the door. So, I asked to speak to a manager. The manager, YVONNE came to the “blue door” with the NASTIEST attitude ever. I’m not sure if she was rolling her eyes, or the lashes were too big. But I quote “We know the door is broken. It just broke like 10 mins ago. We’ll come out in a few and place tape up, so that it doesn’t close”. I insisted that my issue was everyone sitting there WATCHING the customers struggle with the automatic door, because you CANT manually open it. She continued repeating what she said earlier. The lady that was behind me in the car even noticed how nasty and unprofessional, Yvonne was. (I’m sure they have a camera to show exactly what I was talking about)

Once again, I was advised by ebay that my parcel had been delivered and placed in my mail box at 9160 Preference Drive, And once again, when I cheeked my mail box, THE PARCEL WASN'T THERE!!! I was told that my parcel was delivered yesterday at 12:19 PM. Tracking details USPS tracking #9400108205496276095621 Feb 11, 2021 12:19pm DELIVERED IN/AT MAILBOX LA PLATA, MD 20646 The USPS carrier must be notified of this matter immediately so that it doesn't happen again. Once again, I am out my item and the money and time it took me to obtain it.

I never receive my mail on time, coupons are always expired and important documents are not received. I have had multiple packages arrive opened with the items stolen or damaged.

This is the 3rd time I have been home and recieved text confirming delivery, and no such delivery. Called usps and was told sometimes packages have gaurentee delivery times, so if driver isnt going to make it in time, he will mark it delivered and deliver later. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! TODAYS EXCUSE WAS DRIVER MADE A MISTAKE!! Um he was aware enough to confirm and send text AND leave my other mail (package would fit in my box). Post office said driver would redeliver at end of shift! Yeah that never happened. I already spend time redelivering packages I get that arent mine. Its frustrating and despite complaints nothing has changed. If you have a choice do not depend on the usps in la plata md.

I had a package sent to this Post Office due to an incorrect Zip code. When I realized it and called the woman that answered was very helpful and the package was already on its way to the correct address.

Whoever delivers my mail on Xavier Dr. In laplata is awful. They did not take my mail for over 6weeks causing me to hand late penalties. Also they never put any of my packages on my front porch they leave them at end of driveway. I've had so much stuff stolen that I've had to pay for..I'M A DISABLED SINGLE MOTHER..I'M BEING TREATED SO WRONGFULLY. They or everyone else's mail in my mailbox that's not even our road. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! ESPECIALLY WITH ALL THE MONEY THEY GET PAID

Another screw up with delivery to the neighborhood of steeple chase in La Plata. Tracking says it was delivered but it's not at my mailbox or at my door. This has GOT to stop happening it's almost a daily thing in the neighborhood.

After reading the comments, I wanted to give it a try for myself. Well I must say that all the negative comments are definitely true. Although a short wait time, when put on hold the line clicks you off. Call back 4 additional times until I reached someone who got my contact info for a call back. I never received a call back. Wonder if management takes the time to read these comments....evidently NOT!!!

This USPS! Is the worst. Try to call busy signal! Then they shoved my big amazon box damaging my stuff in my mailbox instead of delivering it to my front door. Pure laziness! No one answers the phone there. When going there they say everyone is on route so they don’t know what to tell me.

Just TERRIBLE. I have been placed on hold for 30 min. Called back was hung up on, called back again. No one said hello but put me right on hold then picked up and hung up again.. I'm calling back AGAIN no one is picking up. INSANE. RUDE staff.

I have several postal pick ups at my home every week, lately appx. 2/3's of them go ignored (today, for example) - prompting a mad dash to my P.O. to get my mail tracked on time. What is going on? Gene Brandenburg

I have called the La Plata post office nearly 40 times a day for 4 days straight (not including Sunday). I have received a busy signal for all of this time. Do they have the phone off the hook or what? This is just not normal. There is no voice mail, etc. Whatever happened to good customer service?

Absolutely terrible! My package confirmation online says it was delivered to my mailbox, and it was not. The seller will do nothing about it, not their fault, but the post in La Plata says it was delivered. They obviously delivered it to the wrong address and I never saw it. Whoever received it did not return it to the post office. This isn't the first time either.

THE WORST!!!! I am not sure WHAT possessed me to try to mail something from this post office again after years of knowing that stuff never leaves the black hole that is the La Plata site. I send two pieces of mail on Saturday and neither have arrived a week later. Typical and FRUSTRATING.
