A post office worker just came to deliver boxes to my address. I had outgoing mail, so I asked if I could give it to her. She walked toward her truck and stated I’ll be right back as if she had to retrieve another box from the truck, then she got in and pulled off! LIKE WHAT????

This post office has been pretty bad with mail delivery for us. Sometimes they leave mail just thrown on the porch instead of putting it in our locked mailbox. One time they left a package with my medical grade hemp sitting in the alley. Thank god it was a very cold day because if it were warmer, I have about 14 very young children that routine play right near my house in the alley. It could have been deadly if they got a hold of it and overdosed. And just yesterday I was expecting them to deliver a package. They said there was animal interference so they couldn't deliver the package. Neither I, nor none of my neighbors have any animals. I was in my yard for hours hanging Christmas lights during the time they said that they attempted to deliver my package. I did not even see any postal truck go by. Seems like the postal carrier didn't want to work late, and couldn't be bother to deliver it.

I have been trying to get in touch with the Govans Post Office about a notice for a delivery that needs to be signed for, however, the postal carrier did not put a name on it. There are 2 mail boxes in the front indicating this is a apartment. How dumb can you be to not put the name of the person on that ticket so the tenants in the complex would know who it belongs to and what makes it worse is how you can't get in touch with the office to talk to anyone. The services suck.

I came to the Govans post office today a little after 4pm. The post office was temporarily closed which I thought was weird. My mother works at the USPS headquarters in DC, so I called her to inquire what the issue could be. My mom was concerned and disturbed because it’s very rare. Once I went inside, I noticed there was one woman there. Period. Just one person. I then understood why it was temporarily closed. I watched my momma work her behind off and pick up the slack for other people in the post office for the whole 27 years I’ve been alive. I saw that in the lady behind the counter. She was alone, had to perform multiple jobs, and she did what she needed to do kindly. She even taped my box for me and they didn’t even have a lot of tape in the back. Her name is Terry Bradford and she is absolutely amazing. The fact that she wasn’t even complaining, the fact that she was so helpful to everyone and was doing so many things at once was extraordinary but also it shouldn’t be that way. She shouldn’t be alone there doing everything herself because she’s not a slave and she deserves a break too. Hopefully Govans can be better staffed, but I just wanted to show me and my mother’s appreciation for her hard work.

All service attendants and employees at Govans Post Office are professional, courteous, patient and helpful. The facility, however, is filthy. The floors and rugs have not been cleaned in ages ... and the outdoor entrance area is a mess. Who is the current Manager responsible ?

I have tried on FIVE different occasions to resolve a simple issue of moving. I have applied for a change of address forms, and have filled them out, twice online, and twice by hand. I have hand-delivered the forms to the USPS twice and am still receiving mail at the old address 34 days later. I spoke to an agent on the phone today, 04/14/2020 and was told: "it will be taken care of". It is no wonder that the USPS is going out of business.

I live at 825 Cedarcroft Road. The woman who delivered my mail, had to sign for a package, should be FIRED. She is very rude and confrontational. I did not hear the bell ring the first time she rang the doorbell as a signature was required for a package being delivered. I did hear the doorbell when she rang it again. She was nasty and said that she didn't have time to waste and that her schedule was tight and that she didn't have time to wait for me to come to the door. I have never encountered a postal person like her. Please don't ever send her to my home again.

I had gotten an email notice earlier today about a package delivery attempt, and so I put in a re-delivery request via phone and also through the postal service's website. Within a short time, someone from the Govans PO called, explained what had happened (the package was to large for the carrier's vehicle) and worked out a re-delivery time with me. She provided excellent, personal service, which I much appreciate!
