An occasional package lost or mis-delivered somewhere which happens with having a P.O. Box, but they always find it or fix it for you. If you have problems with mail men: think P.O. Box. Does wonders. Not many problems in my view but nothing is perfect. Still I see these lost mail men around town parking in abnormal places , going into wrong directions all hours of the night and I think tourists. Glad to have a PO Box in that regard. Nice people too.
I recently filled out a “hold mail” form. I passed the form directly into the hand of the gentleman at the window. The person who was watering my plants said, I brought your mail in”. I was shocked because I handed the form directly to the clerk. When I called to report the mishap I was told repeatedly that someone must have picked it up. I said that was not possible, but he kept repeating that to me.
Needless to say the whole experience was upsetting as mail is extremely important. That is the job of the USPO so to have such a “brush off” was very scary because of the security around personal information!
Shame on you. I expected better!
While not stellar, what is? Majority of the people at the window are nice and most are up to snuff. Rarely any problems there. Often annoying customers are allowed to clog up a line by talking incessantly at the window for extremely long periods of time while we all wait and only one window will remain open.
This is a major issue and one of the very few gripes I have with these guys. Have the talky people shut up once they have their receipt or package if the line is long and only one stupid window is open. Usually, there is only one sadly but even when there amazingly is two the line still sits for years seemingly. Always be prepared to wait a bit unless people with etiquette are in the vicinity. The office itself is fine. I’ve had much worse so lighten up. The mail men however…good luck.
Horrible mail sorting and delivery. Impossible to get a human. Get over the COVID-19 excuse and do your job. I have a package that has been sitting for over a week. And nobody can give me any answers. If it was any other workplace you would be fired. Give me my mail

Be a little more careful in Gloucester on Friend Street. You are still delivering in daylight. Please be more aware of your addresses NUMBES.

Very disappointed and angry with the service after trying to personally pick up a package. Called numerous times and received multiple excuses from its nother there to its on a giant pallette when it was received that morning!!
I think this is a nicely organized no gimmicks USPS information site. More efficient for finding info than the real USPS site. However it is lacking info on branch Post Offices in Cape Ann. Gloucester also has 2 branch post offices, one in Lanesville Center and another one on Holly St. next to the Willow Rest near Goose Cove. Also, Rockport has the Pigeon Cove Post Office. Hope that helps someone!
