There is a female clerk at the Arlington Center PO who went out of her way to reinforce the culture of white privilege. On the morning of Sept 10, I dutifully stood in line to wait for service. There were 4 white customers ahead of me and one behind me. The female clerk was overly talkative with a customer and created a bottleneck and people became anxious for things to clear. There was a male clerk who was better at moving things along. As the line edged forward, the white woman behind me became visible edgy. By the time I was next in line, she jumped ahead of me and went to the female clerk. I objected to the clerk that the woman was not respecting the order of the line. Rather than enforce a fair process, the clerk told me that I was in the wrong and cutting ahead of the woman! I did not want to make a scene because I know how such things can escalate into a more serious incident when it involves Black men. The clerk served me afterwards but with an attitude! What can I say? - I'm an older man and fatigued by the instances of white privilege in town: People cutting lines, clerks serving them out of turn, clerks using the N-word, restaurants treating you with disdain. These are all realities of public accommodation experiences over time. I hope that by putting it on record in the reviews someone in the postal service will read it and consider better training for the female clerk. It happened about 10:30 am on Friday, Sept 10, 2021.

THAT IS NOT OK; things like this should be brought to the attn. of the USPS for re-training of staff. "When you see injustice, don't look away' (I say that for myself). Black Lives Matter is not just a phrase... or a yard sign slogan. tzh East Arlington, MA
