I had two packages that I have never received. My Amazon says carrier placed in mailbox. My mailbox is locked so if it was placed in there, no one could just take it out. I can’t get it fixed by Amazon since it says it was delivered.

Rock island postal system is the worst system. Its poor service is what gives the postal system the bad reputation it has and why many people use UPS NOW. TO THREATEN TO INFORM PEOPLE THAT YOU HAVE MOVED AND LEFT NO FORWARDING ADDRESS WHEN YOU DIDNT GO IN AND APPLY FOR A CHANGE OF ADDRESS OR LEFT A FORWARDING ADDRESS. MY HOUSEHOLD HAS BEEN VERY SICK FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS SO SICK AND WEAK WE HAVENT FELT LIKE CHECKING THE BOX. I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS SAME NAME ON ALL THE. MAIL AND THEY THE POST OFFICE THINKS THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO THREATENED ME WITH TELLING EVERYONE I HAVE MOVED AND NO FORWARDING ADDRESS WITHOUT ME APPLYING FOR THAT STATUS? When did the postal system get so nazis like ? Shame on this federally funded program which i and every american pays for out of our pockets with our taxes to make threats and decisions about and indiviuals living status is plain wrong!

I want to commend Jason at the rock island post office for going over and above to get a package back to me. I made a mistake on the address and he took care of it within the hour and called me right away. Thank you again for excellent service! 😊 Debi Johnson

You grow up thinking that mail from another location comes directly to your local post office, sorted amongst the postal deliverers, then it gets brought to your home. No questions asked. Then you start to track a package from New York, or Michigan or even a town 2 hours north of you in your own state, only to find out that the packages bi-pass your town, travel to a sorting center located in the adjoining states capital 3 hours away, only to be back tracked another 3 hours and then it spends another 24 hours in you local postal facility before it is thrown on to another vehicle for final delivery to your home. Now how messed up is that? A package from Rockford, IL just 2 hours up IL 88 got sent to Des Moines, IA ( 3 hours away and west of my location on I-80 West ), only to be sent back along the same route (now I-80 East ) to the Rock Island / Milan facility's and then delivered to my home. And back in 2005, I even had a package sent back to Des Moines, IA. Reason? Rock Island didn't have a postal facility within delivery distance of my home. They would have to ship it via FedEx. And people wonder why this part of the government loses money year after year and raises its rates. Makes you wonder if this is an upgrade from working at McDonald's or Walmart.
