I live a block away & go to this post office several times a week. I've experienced the rudeness outlined in these posts but assumed they had a tough job & let it go for 8 years. But today was so bad it left me no choice. I was at the counter in the process of doing a couple transactions. The man behind me came up & stood a foot behind me even though there was no one in line behind him. He just wasn't paying attention so I asked him politely if he wouldn't mind moving back 6' since I was in the highest risk category. He was very sweet & said of course. But Clerk #56 literally became unhinged & lashed out at me saying I had no right to ask anyone to move & if I needed the 6' distance it was me who had to move. I asked her where could I go when I'm up at the counter & she told me I could move 6' to the left where another clerk serving 3 people. Not only would I be in their space but I wouldn't be able to insert my credit card from there. She continued to rant for 5 more minutes. I couldn't figure out my she was attacking me. If she needed to attack anyone wouldn't it be the person breaking the rules? After reading the other posts I realized she was the same race as the man who was behind me. In fact my story is very similar the other person who said they are racially profiling. I truly believe this was the reason as there's no other explanation for her insane behavior. The other crazy thing is that nothing changes in this post office. Even with all the very specific reviews. Whoever is overseeing this post office isn't fixing this horrible behavior. Why ?

Just an incompetent bunch of barely literate people who are there to collect a paycheck. Entitled and Lazy, who definitely do not even remotely give a crap. Try try try and not to use USPS if at all possible.

Unsatisfactory service. One package supposedly delivered; never received. Traced that package that was recorded as delivered and left in driveway - except no driveway in building where I reside. Another package was recorded as delivery attempted but unable to complete. This building has a 24 hour doorman with someone always available to receive packages. If on a break, a a temporary substitute is assigned to be at the door. So, that excuse is moot. Phone contact with post office is terrible - you are put on hold for at least 15 minutes before you call back. I have never experienced such poor, unsatisfactory service from other post offices. Problem is - no one seems to really care about correcting issues.

I mailed a package on January 10th which ad the correct address, but the wrong zip code 60601 which should have been 60610. The package was addressed to Kylie Lamm at 849 N. Franklin unit 1401 in Chicago, Il. It has not as yet been corrected and received by the receiver. The tracking # 9434610200882215554845. Today is January 22nd. How long does it take to correct a zip code and get it delivered?

Worst of all the post offices I used.(540 N Dearborn St, Chicago, IL 60610) I had problems with my mailbox. No one opens the next window. After 6 calls someone shouted "Go to the line!". I wanted to ask the mail clerk about the problem with the mailbox, but she was very rude, "Go to the line! " (20 people). At the first convenient opportunity, I will change the location.

I have the same problem as mentioned by others. I sent an envelope with tracking # and signature confirmation from Lawrence, KS to Chicago. Now my envelope is missing. Our post office in Lawrence, KS has emailed and called them numerous times. Emails are not answered and the phone just rings forever and then goes to a busy signal. This is the worst experience with USPS ever!

Same problem that Larry mentions. I call Fort Dearborn and the phone rings for a couple minutes and then times out. I have called over and over and no one answers. I have a case open with Stephen Howard and he has not gotten back to me in weeks. I have left messages, when someone actually does answer, and he never calls me back. I have left messages for Sonia Acosta and she too has never gotten back to me.

I can't use those words or it will be considered rude and impolite. This Post Office does suck! My local Post Office in Cedar Falls, IA 50613 has tried calling Ft Dearborn Post without success. Nobody will answer phone now for 2 days and won't actually respond to email.
