No, you cannot pickup packages nor first-class mail, at least not at this branch. I went to the PO Tue 2/9th to try and get my mail, since I haven't had any deliveries since 1/30th. They have you fill out a complaint form - that's it.
I found out that the term "out for delivery" is a misnomer. It actually means that item was received at the local PO that day. Usually the carrier gets this mail the same day, but not always. There should be tracking that shows when the item is actually on the carrier's truck.

I noticed there has been no mail carrier, truck in the area for a week. No mail delivered. If there is no courier we should be informed of expected delays. Expecting important mail over 2 weeks now. Customer service at this office is nonexistent

It’s 2-6-2021 we have not been receiving any mail in well over a week. I have informed delivery and have several pieces of very important mail that was supposed to be delivered over the last week. We have not gotten a single piece of mail. What is going on???

I have not received mail for over 2 weeks. Yesterday, I asked a local carrier about it. They are way understaffed. Our carrier has been on leave he said “ an Easter amount of Sundays”. He said he was subbing 2 routes himself. No clue when we will get mail. And like you, I have some super important stuff in there. Fingers crossed

The date is now 2/17/2021. We STILL have not received any mail. I have so much important mail that I was supposed to receive over the last few weeks. I don’t understand why they won’t at least allow us to pick our mail up. This is ridiculous.

Last time I received mail was Jan 19, 2021. Went to the post office several times to actually pick up my mail was giving a yellow form to fill out abs was told my mail will be delivered as soon as they received help to come and process the mail. Now I worked both mail carrier and inside ( processing mail ) there's people there that can do both I just feel they are waiting for someone else to come do the work since it's " so much"

Our carrier dropped in to tell us there would be no delivery yesterday and again today. Jan 29-30 2021. Why?

I have informed delivery and I can see my mail being sent out for delivery but I'm still not receiving my mail, The carrier isn't even delivering the mail to my building, I have 2 very important pieces of mail missing and better turn up or somebody going to Jail ! This is the worst Post office ever

It’s 4:36pm Wednesday March 11th 2020 & I just called the Charles Hayes post office & was hung up on 3 times consecutively. By the fourth time calling whoever the clerk was that answered the phone just picked up the phone & didn’t speak to me but continued whatever conversation her & another co worker were having all while ignoring me. My sister Nicole is blind & has been waiting on important paperwork to start home care. It’s a damn shame that they will pick up the phone and not only not address you but have a whole convo while your waiting to see why your mail hasn’t been delivered. I also wanted to inquire why my drivers license hasn’t been delivered even though it was mailed from 99th & State on Feb. 28th. This has got to be the worst post office in Chicago & I will be taking legal action if my identity has been compromised due to someone stealing my license or if my sisters health is jeopardized due to the inadequate service & non existent customer service by the workers at the Charles Hayes post office

I was e-mailed that my packages were being held at the PO, when I got there - NO PACKAGES - was told they were on the truck - Monday and Tuesday, but I NEVER received a Delivery Attempt Notice and I did request for them not to leave me things in the hall of the building. No one could tell me anything - I showed them the USPS notices and they just shrugged their shoulders. I took off work early because of this. Now I must play a waiting game or are my things stolen by USPS.
