Although my primary Post Office is in Newberry, occasionally a few packages end up in the Alachua Post Office(FEDEX SmartPost is the main culprit) My physical address is listed as Alachua but is a non-deliverable address. In all cases, the employees at Alachua are friendly, professional and treat me like family. It always helps to be pro-active in these situations to make their job easier. A lesson to be learned by the proceeding reviewers. Thanks guys!(and gals).

I NEED TO POST OFFICE BOX; i asked about it at the location; this women gave me a form to fill out & said to bring two IDs with it. I did just that. I lived here for 8 years, it is on Drivers license and on my bills. When i told all the requested info in; a man said I can not get a box cause i do not own a place, I just rent. Why can't i get a box? Why is every employee on different pages? I really need a box; i they are going to cost me my job, (that I work from home).

I have never been so disgusted with a postal service in my life these people are so terrible at delivering your mail I wish I could find them I order offline all the time and for some reason all of a sudden for the past 6 months I have been having issues with my mail being delivered to my house I always have to track my package when it gets in Alachua I never get it when I call to receive my package they never see it or they don't have anything for me what incident I went to the post office three times for a package to find out on the third day that it was in the wrong box what kind of crap do they have going on here? I own my house and haven't been receiving papers for my taxes due this year out the blue I get a open letter stating that my taxes have now went up $1,000 because they have been sending the letter out since November and I have yet to receive it until now whose fault is this? Can't be mine its the post office do they apologize? No they go on with their day so this week I happened to be leaving for work the same time that I am receiving mail for the week and of course it's the light bill but why is my light bill split wide open as if he was going to pay it for me? I tried to stop him and he pulled off turn the corner and sped up I don't understand why these people are so rude and disrespectful you guys should really just shut the whole place down

I have been trying to call the post office for 2 days, constant busy. Got a package that required signature, went on line and scheduled re-delivery, I've been here all day, wondered why I didn't get the package, online note:"we attempted to deliver the package but could not because the employee did not have access to the delivery location. Your item will go out for delivery again tomorrow". WHAT THE HECK? I don't live in a gated subdivision, just off a dirt road that UPS, FedEx have no issues getting packages here. Yet I cant call to find out what is up as phone is constantly busy and 1-800 number has 40 minute wait. And I have no clue what this parcel is, is it perishable, is it junk, no info on the slip just that it needs signature. But if take time out from work and go to the post office, they will tell me it is out for delivery!!!!

Hello, we are residents of 172nd Street, south of 78th Avenue (CR232) in Alachua. Our mail delivery person, after putting the mail in the row of mailboxes south of 70th Avenue has a bad habit of "peeling out" after finishing, leaving large ruts in the dirt road in front of the mailboxes, then making a u-turn through a grassy area so he/she cn return north. Could you please ask him/her to stop doing this? It's hard enough driving through the deep sandy road without having to encounter the ruts left behind. Thank you.

I order stuff online all the time. I have no control over who it ships through. This is about the 5th time one of packages has came through the Post office and NOT Been delivered. I get updates on all my packages so I know exactly when its delivered. It showed it was in my mail box today so I go check and of course nothing. I live in an apartment and everything is done by key, so I know someone else didn't steal my package. If the item is to big it is put into a bigger mail box with a slip to go to the office and nothing was in there. I am highly pissed off for not receiving my packages.

This is not your father's Post Office. For years and years I have been a faithful UPS (Unbelievably Poor Service) customer but after attending a presentation on the ins and outs of USPS shipping for eBay customers I switch to USPS for all outgoing parcels.....(lots of them). The rates are better at USPS, the drivers and the staff are kinder and more interested in your success and if you have a problem ... they make it their problem until it gets resolved. Of course, 1st class mail is indeed that.... a First Class Service. If you are a FedEx Ground customer, or a UPS customer try it out, all the label printing, postage fees, payment options, tracking methods and handling can be done off your laptop or iPhone. I ditched FedEx when they back charged me $31.50 for a 12 pound parcel I shipped from Florida to Kentucky. Try it you'll be surprised how much better the rates are on small parcels........and how much nicer it is to work with people that live and work in the same town you do.
