I dropped a business sized letter in a classic blue mailbox located in the parking lot in front of the Shield Street location, which was intended for a recipient that lived in the same zip code as this post office...It was never received. I specifically chose this loc action because with the same zip code to expedite the processing of the mail. The envelope included a check to pay my mortgage, along with a couple of additional pieces of paper added to provide additional heft to the envelope. I added the additional paper on the advice of desk attended because, this had happened before and I was advised that a simple "flimsy envelope" can sometimes be destroyed by the processing machine. It is extremely disappointing to learn that this post office is unable to safely handle and deliver an envelope that was dropped off in the literal shadow of the building. My addtional irritation that they could not be bothered to even answer the telephone to address this situation is what has prompted my comments.

I would like the manager at this location to call me ASAP. There have been three (3) occasions where the mail delivery person took it upon themselves to not deliver my mail. This time is because I have a for sale sign in front of my house. Until a person submits a change of address form it is illegal for the deliverer to decide upon themselves that they will withhold mail. I have not received all the mail that is due to me.

I had a package confirmed that it was dropped off at my address. After checking around for it . I decided to go to this post office to see if it was there . They confirmed w me that the driver had delivered it to another address and they would speak w the driver and get back to me. I went there in person twice and still have no answers on where my package could be. Post office worker even tried to talk down to me like I was a child . None of my words were heard and I was belittled . Still looking for my package or a reimbursement.

Service has been terrible! I had an expensive package delivered and signed for by someone else and I have no idea where it got delivered to last week. I spoke with the manager at the Shield Street location and the “supervisor” has yet to call me. I was expecting an expensive delivery today (to sign for) and after checking the tracking info, it states there was “no access” to delivery location. That is absolutely untrue and I was home...there was no attempt for delivery. I also have been seeing the status say “delivered” on some items and they don’t show up in my box until a day or two later. And my mail gets delivered to my neighbors and I get theirs a lot. Either it’s a carrier issue and they are keeping the items or a department issue. I have tried to be patient but it is getting ridiculous and frustrating.

A package for the address 1348 Boulevard, West Hartford, was just delivered to 148 Maplewood Avenue. I tried calling the post office but no one picks up--so I'm hoping that someone will read this post and pick up the package (on the front porch to the left of the door) and deliver it to the correct address.

There is a postal person who refuses to put on a mask entering a childcare center. I've asked her on multiple occasions to please put a mask on when entering the building. Her response was to put a mailbox outside. I've been trying to call to speak with a supervisor about this matter and unable to get through to anyone. Her name is Holly and her delivery route is 506. I need someone to contact me about this matter 860-548-2003 ext. 200. Thank You.

The postal worker who answered the phone at the Shield Street location was extremely helpful and quickly resolved my question about a missing package that had been noted as delivered but was miscoded and on its way. Thanks for your service!

I Place 2 package in front of my door for the mailman To take back I come from work and theirs mail in my mailbox but packages are still where I left them.

Is it possible? Changed address 9 months ago and received mail forwarded from 2 other recent addresses (seasonal). Last week postman told West Hartford neighbor tons of mail sitting for me at Shields Street West Hartford post office. Tried calling but still never an answer. Does anyone alive and thinking really work there? My local USPS guy is remarkably responsive. Whose in charge there in WH???

No mail delivery at my office for two days. Called the branch to ask what is going on and the phone rings and rings - no one picks up - over 5 minutes of phone ringing and no one picks up.

Worst service in any post office I've visited in the last 20 years. Money order for $900 could not be cashed do to insufficient Funds??? A USPS money order can only be cashed at USPS office.

never answers the phone, terrible store, probably the worst in the state of ct. mail does not get delivered timely, social security does not come in time, supposed to get it on the 3rd of month, sometimes it comes days later. unacceptable!
