I have mailed 4 letters from Thailand to the same Ft. Collins address - all expensive, registered mail.
Not one letter has ever arrived. Thailand mail is bad but Ft. Collins must have the worst PO in the US!!!


This post office is absolutely TERRIBLE! I moved into a new office, had to have the locks drilled out and replaced, because I did not get mail keys. I should have known this would be a horrible experience when the person who took my re-key request was totally clueless. He acted as though this was a foreign request and had no idea what it was I was asking for. Anyway, when he finally figured it out I was told it could take up to 6 weeks before the lock was replaced. They called me 4 and a half weeks later and told me I would have to come in to pick up my keys. When I picked them up the person (a different one) again acted as though they weren't sure what was going on and stated it was unclear which box they re-keyed for me. He said to just try the key in all the boxes until I figured out which one the keys fit....REALLY! I asked what happens if you just essentially re-key someone else's mailbox, and they come out and can't get their mail. My comment was blown off.
I have now discovered, that even though they changed out a particular box number and gave me the keys for that one, the mail carrier is putting my mail in a different box. I have been receiving invoices, payments, and whatever else in the WRONG box. When I went into the post office today and found this out, I asked to speak to someone in charge to voice my concern with late fees and the fact that I now may look unreliable to my vendors and landlord. Rosy, the supervisor promptly put me in my place by telling me, it is all MY fault for 1. not staking out my business post box and speaking directly to the postal delivery person about my problems; 2. for not leaving a note in the post office box for the postal delivery person, even when I was unaware there was a problem; 3. for not contacting all my vendors and customers to verify they have sent invoices or payments; 4. for not spending my precious business time standing in a line at the post office to speak to someone else, who at this point I have absolutely NO confidence would have had any clue as to what was going on at any time.


Absolute worst! Writing a letter to the Postmaster General. This location does not answer the phone. I have tried 27 times today between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm. The phone rings of the hook, there is not even a voice mail to leave a message. At one point I let the phone ring for 6 minutes just to see how long it would ring - I believe they have it turned off. I called 1-800-ASK-USPS to file a complaint and the agent wouldn't let me, she told me I had to discuss it with the very people who wouldn't answer the phone. I called back and finally got someone at 1-800-ASK-USPS who would let me file a complaint, but now their system is down so she can't. She gave me the phone number for the District Office so I could call them directly, but guess what? They close at 4:25 and no I can't leave a message, please call back. This is why people use FedEx.


Called to make a passport appointment as required per the information on this page. Was told they don't make appointments... I guess we'll just show up then!


Went to tell the Postmaster on Boardwalk about a theft problem. Mark, who works in the passport office, said the Postmaster "typically" wasn't in but could he help? I explained my problem to him and asked if the Postmaster could call me back to discuss the problem. He said, "No, he won't do that." I said, "why? doesn't anyone care about this?" (money being stolen from a postage due envelope I put in a secure neighborhood box). He said, "that's right. No one cares." Mark, you're the reason people have such low opinions and low expectations about the post office. Really Mr. Postmaster, aren't you even a little ashamed that your employee admits you "typically" aren't around?
