Mailman gave majestic mailbox key to someone and they stealing our mail

This is the second time that my package has been put into a community package mailbox that the key doesn't work properly. The post person came to my door and admitted that he knew that the key didn't work but still put my package in. WHY? Somehow it disappeared from the mailbox because he probably just stuck it on top and it got stolen. The weird thing is that 1-P mailbox and 2-P mailbox are both available because the keys are still in the mailbox so my package could've been put in one of those mailboxes. My package is in 3-P and the key doesn't work.

We have not had our mail delivered yet this week although mail has been sent and some of our neighbors have had mail delivered. I live at 6010 Arlington Blvd., Richmond CA 94805. Please explain.
