Atrocious. I rented a post office box online because my mailbox was broken into right before Christmas, and I had expensive packages yet to arrive. Their form 1093 was required, but so was Adobe Acrobat to print it out, I was told after my credit card was charged. I didn't have Adobe Acrobat so I "Googled" the form, printed it out, and waited to fill it out until I got there. I arrived at 8:30 a.m.: the supposed opening time. Customer service was supposed to be open at 8:30 a.m. but not the main purchasing station. It wasn't. Several people rang the bell. I left 10 minutes later. I went back later in the day. Oh my goodness, how rude. Fake postmaster guru was in a dismissive funk because the form wasn't filled out. He dismissed me to the writing table with no help. I filled out the form, and returned. I driver's license and a passport wasn't enough. I needed one of those and a rental agreement or a lease agreement. Who knew that a lease agreement was more valid proof of identity than a passport. I asked how to cancel the post office box, and was dismissed with, "Do it online", I went to another postal station and called the 800 number, both of which told me to return to the original postal station, and cancel the post office box. I got there, and asked for a supervisor, and was rerouted to the same individual as before. I asked to speak to a supervisor, who told me that he could cancel the post office box for a 50%return or I needed to go "online" with no specifics after talking to this same individual. The problem in getting a key to the post office box that I paid for ultimately? I didn't have Adobe Acrobat on my iPhone to print out the 1093 form with a bar code, despite bringing a driver's license, a passport, a vehicle registration and proof of insurance. I needed to talk to their technical expert, who was sure to be there at 8:30 a.m. as he is "every day". We haven't progressed a minute past the 70's or Russian breadlines at the post office. It is still a ridiculous, rude bureaucratic morass, but what do I know? I am just some fool to be abused in line.
