I’m incredibly frustrated and furious. We overnight priority mailed a set of car keys to a vacation rental, there wasn’t a mailbox, so they were routed to the post office, which is acceptable. We went the following morning to pick them up for our drive home, and Alicia the front desk employee greeted us and said they weren’t there. We showed the tracking number for the package, which said they were available for pickup at 1:31 the day before, and she kept insisting “that doesn’t mean they were delivered, it doesn’t say delivered”. Please explain to me what ‘available for pickup’ means then. She proceeded to half heartedly pickup a few papers and shuffle things around without really looking, asked us if it was an envelope or package, insisted we couldn’t mail things to the post office, and claim she was there the day before and hadn’t received any priority packages. To be honest, the entire was in such a state of disarray that I’m not surprised she didn’t seem to want to apply the effort to actually look for our PRIORITY PACKAGE. Alicia claimed they would’ve just been returned to sender since the address had no mailbox, and we gave up and accepted we’d be making the five hour drive home without them. Two hours in, we receive a phonecall, and low and behold, the post master came in and found the keys. They were there the entire time. She was unapologetic in delivering the news, offered zero recourse, help, or any sort of customer service. When we called to complain an hour later, she claimed the post master was out for the day. Really? So we came at 11 and he wasn’t there, he comes in between then, and is already departed by the time we called back to complain at two? Interesting. Honestly, the overall lack of care, customer service, and actual incompetence could only come from a government employee. The fact that she is employed by this office and ever left unsupervised is an absolute disgrace. You should be ashamed and embarrassed by the people you employ. And the fact that you don’t even have the courtesy to then overnight the keys back for all the inconvenience? Unreal. I hope to hear back from you and get SOME level of recourse. Thank you.

Remsen NY post office. States they open at 7am for Lobby hours yet day after day after day they are never there. I have waited on days until 7:15 for someone to arrive and they still do not show up. Must be nice to make your own hours! Really inconvenient for me because I can only GET my mail at this time because they are closed by the time I get out of work!!!
